Event Details

Tutoring Chicago’s Guest Reader series happens in March. Guests from the Chicago community read age appropriate books with Tutoring Chicago students. On March 21st, which also happens to be World Poetry Day, we are delighted to have Quraysh Ali Lansana read from his children’s book A Gift from Greensboro, recently published by Penny Candy Books: https://www.pennycandybooks.com/our-books1/a-gift-from-greensboro.

From Tutoring Chicago’s website http://www.tutoringchicago.org/about/:

“Tutoring Chicago (formerly Cabrini Green Tutoring Program) has been supporting kids in Cabrini Green and beyond since 1965. With a solid history behind us and an even-stronger future ahead, we offer kids the stability of a trustworthy organization. Beyond classroom help, students also benefit from structure, a positive environment, and a safe place to learn, grow and discover.

Tutoring Chicago is a private, non-profit organization that provides free weekly tutoring to approximately 600 students in grades one through six with the help of over 650 dedicated volunteers.”
